Bipole III Initial Corridor Evaluation - Aquatic Assessment
Under Contract to Manitoba Hydro, North/South Consultants Inc. conducted the aquatic component of a synoptic survey to examine and systematically categorize aquatic environment attributes of proposed alternative high-voltage DC transmission corridors east of Lake Winnipeg. Helicopter supported field work was conducted using an interdisciplinary team approach that included aquatic, wildlife, and terrestrial habitat specialists.
The objectives of this evaluation were to determine the status of the existing aquatic environment database, make preliminary assessments of routing options as they relate to water courses and fish resource use, and make recommendations for future monitoring needs.
