Proposed Gull (Keeyask) Generating Station
North/South Consultants is currently managing environmental studies for the proposed Gull (Keeyask) Generating Station on the Nelson River in northern Manitoba and conducting the aquatic studies component of this program of study. A field sampling program was designed based on an understanding of the potential impacts of the construction and operation of a generating station on the aquatic environment of the study area, which extends from the Kelsey G.S. to the Kettle G.S. on the Nelson River. The study area includes the Nelson River proper, the Burntwood River, and the Assean River watershed. Aquatic study components include water quality, sediment quality, lower trophic levels, fish movements, fish community, fish habitat, and fish quality.
