Review of Environmental Issues
Related to Brandon and Selkirk Thermal Generating Stations
In association with SENES Consultants Ltd. Toronto, a review was conducted of issues related to several life extension options for the Brandon and Selkirk Thermal Generating Stations. North/South Consultants conducted a detailed assessment of effects to the aquatic biota in the Assiniboine and Red rivers under a variety of operating scenarios. The assessment was based on modelling to evaluate the impacts associated with water withdrawal, inputs of thermal effluent, and ash lagoon discharge.
