Wuskwatim Environmental Impact Assessment
North/South Consultants Inc. is currently co-managing the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed Wuskwatim Generating Station on the lower Burntwood River in northern Manitoba and conducting the aquatic studies component of the larger assessment. A field sampling program was designed based on an understanding of the potential impacts of the construction and operation of a generating station on the aquatic environment of the study area, which consists of the lower Burntwood River within the Wuskwatim Lake area. Aquatic study components include water quality, sediment quality, lower trophic levels, fish movements, fish community, fish habitat, and fish quality.
