Friederike Schneider-Vieira - Ph.D., B.Sc.

Friederike has been with North/South Consultants Inc. since 1992. She obtained her Ph.D. in aquatic ecology from Dalhousie University in 1990 with the assistance of a 1967 Science and Engineering Scholarship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Friederike has led the design and implementation of environmental assessment and monitoring studies related to hydroelectric development, mining, and municipal and industrial wastewater discharges. In association with these projects, Friederike has gained extensive experience in addressing the fish and fish habitat provisions of the federal
Fisheries Act. Friederike’s work in environmental assessment has included integrating inputs from diverse stakeholders into effects assessments and developing communication tools for both technical and non-technical audiences. Her experience includes providing expert testimony at environmental hearings.
