Primary Areas of Expertise - aquatic habitat, bathymetric surveys, geographic information systems, aerial and satellite remote sensing
Jarod has been with North/South Consultants Inc. since 2004 and has over 19 years of experience in GIS and remote sensing. Jarod has applied his background in GIS and Remote Sensing to the field of aquatic environment science. His areas of expertise include: aquatic and fish habitat modelling, mapping and assessment; hydroacoustic bottom-typing using single-beam sonar and side scan sonar technologies; bathymetric data collection, analysis and mapping; acquisition and processing of acoustic Doppler current profile (ADCP) velocity data; real-time kinematic (RTK) GPS data collection and processing; aerial and satellite image acquisition, analysis and interpretation; statistical analysis of biological and remotely sensed datasets; geographic information systems analysis; and spatial database design and implementation. Jarod has participated in a number of large-scale hydroelectric development Environmental Impact Assessments, providing aquatic habitat mapping and assessment support.
