Primary Areas of Expertise - population and ecological modeling, statistical analysis
Patrick has been employed by NSC since 2004 and has over 20 years of experience in fisheries science. He was involved in the DFO Productive Capacity and Defensible Methods initiatives beginning in 1995 and continues to develop applied methodologies for assessment of impacts to fish and habitat for the regulatory process. Patrick's areas of expertise are in fish habitat, population estimation, ecological modeling, parasitology, sample design, trophic interactions, and biogeography. Patrick has been involved in studying the effects of hydroelectric operations on the aquatic environment. His interests are the development of field methods and statistical approaches to streamline data integration for multi-stakeholder projects such as adaptive management frameworks, aquatic effects monitoring plans, species at risk recovery strategies, and structured decision making processes.
