The 1300 MW Conawapa GS project is one of Manitoba Hydro's options for future hydroelectric generation. Detailed planning commenced in 1988 and continued until the project was deferred in 1992. Detailed planning recommenced in 2004 and continued until 2014 when the project was again deferred.
During both planning stages, NSC was responsible for the aquatic component of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). NSC was also responsible for the resource use component of the more recent EIA process.
