E.B. Campbell Hydroelectric Station - Mitigation Measures to Reduce Fish Stranding
|Saskatchewan River, northern Saskatchewan
Services Provided by NSC:
Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower) owns and operates the 288 MW E.B. Campbell Hydroelectric Station (Est. 1963) on the Saskatchewan River, and has an interest in developing options to mitigate the negative effects of water level variation on fish stranding. The effects of peaking operations on dewatering of fish habitat in the spillway was examined digitally using a water level model with a series of known discharges, a detailed elevation model, and scenarios that excavated the channel.
