Turbidity Monitoring
Projects with an instream construction component require monitoring of the amount of sediment released into adjacent waterbodies. NSC is equipped to conduct turbidity monitoring in all seasons, in a variety of waterbody types, including streams, rivers, and lakes, under both open-water and ice-cover conditions. NSC staff are experienced at using both hand-held turbidity meters and long-term turbidity loggers to conduct the turbidity monitoring component of instream construction projects. NSC has also used sediment traps to collect samples for laboratory analysis as a component of sedimentation rate studies associated with baseline studies and operational monitoring of projects.
