Water and Sediment Quality
While water is essential to all living things, aquatic and semi-aquatic organisms can exist, and in fact thrive, in environments that differ drastically at the chemical level. The water and sediment quality specialists at NSC are familiar with the wide range of chemical conditions that exist in aquatic habitats throughout Canada under both open-water and ice-covered conditions, and have experience designing sampling programs for lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands in urban, rural, and remote areas. NSC owns a variety of water quality meters and sondes for the measurement of in-situ water conditions, and collects water and sediment samples for laboratory analysis of a wide range of parameters.Representative projects:
