NSC designs and executes aquatic field programs that range in size from one sampling event conducted by a single crew to multi-year programs that require a team of field personnel to seasonally sample all components of the aquatic environment. Our sampling protocols are specifically tailored to the needs of each project, and they follow a scientifically defensible approach, including the collection of QA/QC samples and the identification of meaningful sample sizes.
The company maintains a large inventory of aquatic sampling equipment with built in redundancy, and is capable of conducting field sampling in freshwater, estuarine and marine environments. NSC staff have experience working in a variety of environments, including remote areas under both open-water and ice-covered conditions, and in confined spaces. NSC field crews frequently include local First Nations members who are trained as field assistants and provide local expertise.
