Invertebrate Taxonomy
Invertebrate diversity and abundance serves as an indicator of ecosystem health. NSC has decades of experience processing and identifying freshwater and marine macroinvertebrate samples. NSC invertebrate taxonomy services include sample sorting, aquatic invertebrate (or zooplankton) identification, and wet and dry biomass measurements. These are available as stand-alone services or can be combined. Dedicated identification staff have taxonomic certifications from the Society for Freshwater Science Taxonomic Certification Programme and are proficient in Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN) protocols.
